Ferreira leads FC Dallas past Rapids 3-0

David Ferreira scored twice for previously goal-shy FC Dallas as it recorded a 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids Friday to avenge last season's MLS Cup defeat.

Colorado beat FC Dallas 2-1 in last year's final.

FC Dallas (1-1-2) had scored only one goal while going winless in its first three matches.

Ferreira scored his first goal of the season in the 40th minute before sealing the 3-0 win only 25 seconds into the second half, scoring from Eric Avila's cross from the right.

Earlier, Ugo Ihemelu gave FC Dallas its first lead of the season in the 26th, receiving a headed pass from Marvin Chavez.
