Fernando Torres cleared to rejoin light training after suffering serious concussion

Fernando Torres has returned to training with Atletico Madrid after suffering a concussion against Deportivo la Coruña on Thursday, March 2nd.

Torres collided hard with Deportivo midfielder Alex Bergantinos and was hospitalized after appearing to lose consciousness on the pitch. He spent a night under observation and was discharged on Friday.

Torres was in the stands for Atletico's win against Valencia over the weekend, and received a standing ovation from the home crowd, with a section of the fans unveiling a banner that read: "The Calderon loves you - strength, Torres!"

On Tuesday, Atletico reported that Torres has returned to light training, but there is no timetable for his return to full capacity. Spanish radio show El Larguero reports that medical tests and scans have so far been positive, but Torres is some weeks away from a return.
