FC Porto to appeal Hulk's ban

FC Porto will appeal Hulk's four-month ban from the Portuguese league for his part in a post-match brawl in December.

The Brazilian forward was among numerous players involved in a fight in the tunnel after Porto's 1-0 loss at Benfica on Dec. 20 that resulted in a security guard being hospitalized with a head injury.

Porto says it will challenge the suspensions for Hulk and Romanian defender Cristian Sapunaru, who was banned for six months but is now on loan at Rapid Bucharest.

Hulk, whose full name is Givanildo Vieira, has already completed two months of his ban.
