FC Cincinnati's Fanendo Adi charged with impaired driving
CINCINNATI (AP) — FC Cincinnati forward Fanendo Adi has been suspended while Major League Soccer investigates his citations for speeding and impaired driving.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped Adi for speeding in Butler County early Sunday. He also was cited for impaired driving.
He is not allowed to participate in any team activities while MLS investigates and Adi undergoes a required substance abuse and behavioral assessment.
Adi is one of the top players on FC Cincinnati, which moved up to the MLS this season. FC Cincinnati acquired him from Portland Timbers FC last summer.
The 28-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria, scored 54 goals in 126 games for Portland.
