Fazio pens Sevilla extension

Sevilla defender Federico Fazio has signed a four-year contract extension with the Primera Division club.

The 26-year-old Argentina international's contract in Seville was set to expire next year but, after meeting club president Jose Maria del Nido today, he has committed his future to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until 2018.

A statement published on Sevilla's official website also confirmed the existence of 10million euro buyout clause in Fazio's new deal.

The Buenos Aires-born centre-back has made 121 league appearances, scoring 10 goals, in six seasons with the Andalusian outfit following his 2007 switch from Ferro Carril Oeste.
