Euro 2024 bracket: Final group standings and tiebreakers explained

The Euro 2024 bracket is set with the conclusion of the group stage. Next up: the Round of 16.

Here is the path to the final for the remaining 16 teams:

GROUP SCENARIOS

The top two teams in each group will advance to the Round of 16, along with the four best third-place finishers.

Group A

  • Germany has won the group, will face Denmark in the Round of 16
  • Switzerland finishes as runner-up, will face Italy in the Round of 16
  • Hungary has been eliminated
  • Scotland has been eliminated

Group B

  • Spain has won the group, will play Georgia in the Round of 16
  • Italy finishes as runner-up, will play Switzerland in the Round of 16
  • Croatia has been eliminated
  • Albania has been eliminated

Group C

  • England has won the group, will play Slovakia in the Round of 16
  • Denmark finishes as runner-up, will face Germany in the Round of 16
  • Slovenia advances as a third-place team, will play Portugal in the Round of 16
  • Serbia has been eliminated

Group D

  • Austria has won the group, will play Türkiye in the Round of 16
  • France finishes as runner-up, will play Belgium in the Round of 16
  • Netherlands advances as a third-place team, will play Romania in the Round of 16
  • Poland has been eliminated

Group E

  • Romania has won the group, will play Netherlands in the Round of 16
  • Belgium finishes as runner-up, will play France in the Round of 16
  • Slovakia advances as a third-place team, will play England in the Round of 16
  • Ukraine has been eliminated

Group F

  • Portugal has won the group, will play Slovenia in the Round of 16
  • Türkiye finishes as runner-up, will play Austria in the Round of 16
  • Georgia advances as a third-place team, will play Spain in the Round of 16
  • Czechia has been eliminated

Group tiebreakers

  • Head-to-head result
  • Head-to-head goal difference
  • Head-to-head goals scored
  • If three teams are tied on points, then the above criteria are applied again to just those teams. If teams still are tied after that, then the following tiebreakers are applied.
  • Group goal difference
  • Group goals scored
  • A penalty shootout would ensue if the two teams in question are playing each other on the final day
  • If the two teams don't play each other, then disciplinary points would be applied
  • Rankings from Euro qualifiers
