Eto'o scores on his debut in Russia

Samuel Eto'o scored on his Russian league debut for Anzhi Makhachkala which drew 1-1 against FC Rostov on Saturday.

Eto'o, who signed from Inter Milan on Tuesday, came on in the 53rd minute. The Cameroon international scored in the 80th from close range off a cross from Yuri Zhirkov, a new signing from Chelsea.

Timofei Kalachev put FC Rostov in the lead in the 71st.

Anzhi is fourth in the Russian league with 37 points after 22 games, eight points behind leader CSKA Moscow.

Eto'o has a three-year contract reportedly worth $28.8 million per season.

The 30-year-old Eto'o has won three Champions League titles - two with Barcelona and one with Inter.
