Emerson Leao to coach Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo says it has hired Emerson Leao for a second spell in charge of the club.
Leao replaces Adilsson Batista, who was fired after the club's six-match winless run in the Brazilian national championship.
The former goalkeeper returns to Sao Paulo after leading the club as coach to the Brazilian title in the 2004-2005 season. He was also the national team's coach briefly. Leao played for Brazil at the 1978 World Cup.
The club says on its website that Leao has signed a contract until the end of the current season.
Sao Paulo is sixth in the 20-team competition, eight points behind leader Vasco da Gama.
