Eagles happy with Laws appointment

Laws' reign started with a 3-0 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday, but there were plenty of positives to take from an encouraging Clarets display, not least the individual performance of Eagles. The former United trainee was in fine form on his return to Old Trafford, and after experiencing the first managerial change of his career, Eagles said he was starting to adjust to having a new man in charge. "It wasn't unsettling but it's been strange for me because I've only had two gaffers," Eagles told the club's official website. "But the new gaffer seems very bright and likes us to attack and so hopefully we can carry that on, although we need to get some results away just to kick us on. "I think 3-0 was a bit harsh. There were a few chances we could have taken but with the talent they've got they get a chance and they punish you, which they did."
