Eagles cool Clyne's United link

The Eagles were reported to be in talks with the Premier League champions over a £3million deal for Clyne, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

But Freedman denied any deal was in the works and will include Clyne in his side to face Cardiff in the second-leg of the Carling Cup semi-final if he passes a fitness test.

"There has not been one single approach for one of my players so, so far so good," Freedman said. "Professionally, young Nathaniel is fine and our relationship is fantastic. If he is fit and he is on form then he will play as he has contributed to the team's defence.

"We have kept many clean sheets this year and he has been involved in them.

"The game may make him more aware to the Premier League but it is something I am not too concerned about right now, he will play in a unit that will hopefully defend our lead."
