Duffen hits back at Tigers
The Tigers issued a statement on Thursday explaining their actions were 'to protect the commercial best interests of the club'. Duffen oversaw arguably the greatest period in club's history as chairman between June 2007 and October 2009 when Hull achieved promotion to the Premier League in 2008 and then survived the drop on the last day of the season. However Duffen insists the Tigers are reacting to his own actions after he issued his own legal proceedings against Hull after claiming he is owed £1million by the club. "This is in response to legal action initiated by me in early December with regard to monies that are owed to me under the agreed terms of my resignation in October," he told the Daily Express. "The matter is now in the hands of the court and I'm happy for that to run its course. I took over at Hull when they were 21st in the Championship and I helped them to the top of the Premier League. "I'm so proud to be associated with them in the most successful period in their history."
