Dortmund waiting on Sahin
Borussia Dortmund are doing their best to convince Nuri Sahin to stay at the club amid reports the star midfielder is wanted by Real Madrid.
A clause in the Turkey international's contract, which runs until June 2013, allows him to leave for a fee in the region of £5.3million this summer and he is considering his future at Signal-Iduna-Park.
Freshly-crowned Bundesliga champions Dortmund admit that the final decision rests with 22-year-old Sahin, but they also insist there has been no new movement.
Club executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told Deutsche Presseagentur: "There is no news as far as we are concerned.
"I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic, I am no clairvoyant. The final decision will always be Nuri's."
Dortmund, though, are optimistic about keeping their stars for next season after the club's director of sport, Michael Zorc, said on Sunday that they had received no offers for Sahin.
"When and if the issue arises, we will concern ourselves with it, but for now, that is not the case," Zorc told German television channel Sport1.
"We must expect that some of our players are coveted by big European clubs, but our goal is to keep our workforce."
Meanwhile, Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted relief rather than joy was the overriding emotion after winning the Bundesliga title on Saturday with two games to spare.
"I would say that the feeling of relief is a thousand times stronger than the actual delight in winning the league," he told ZDF television.
"I actually thought it would feel different to this, more euphoric, but maybe that will still come.
"My team has achieved something extraordinary. Words cannot describe what the lads have done."
