Dortmund star Gundogan faces further 3 months out after surgery
Borussia Dortmund says midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has undergone a back operation after missing most of last season through injury and should be able to make his comeback in three months.
Dortmund said on Wednesday that Gundogan, whose injury problems ruled him out of Germany's World Cup campaign, had ''minimally invasive'' surgery in Munich this week.
He has been troubled by an inflamed nerve in his back and hasn't played since August.
The Bundesliga club says doctors expect he will be ready to play again in September.
