Dominic Iorfa Close To Joining West Ham
It seems West Ham have finally admitted that Michail Antonio is not a right back. All of the rumours and reports are pointing to a right back coming in to the squad before the end of deadline day, and one of the strongest condenders is Wolves’ Iorfa.
Wolves’ Point Of View
Wolves won’t be too happy about this rumour. Given their recent takeover and injection of money they would want to keep their talented players. Iorfa is certainly talented, and the Hammers aren’t the only Premier League team interested.
At 21 Iorfa is a bright player, able to combine the modern rigours of attacking and defending at right back easily and without too much penalty between the two, and having made 42 appearances for the Midlands side last year he is certainly important to them.
They may however be looking to cash in whilst they can and bring in experience instead. Any new owners are not going to be wanting to build in the Championship for a few years. They’re going to want instant success, and Iorfa won’t play backup in the second tier.

West Ham’s POV
The club have made a point of signing young talent at any opportunity, and Iorfa fits the bill. But is it really the right signing when we already have a young right back there?
There is no doubt in my opinion that we will bring in a right back this window, but I would expect it to be an experienced player to counter Byram’s raw talent in that position.
I certainly wouldn’t object to Iorfa being at the club, I’m just not sure he’s the right signing right now. But it’s what Bilic wants, not me!
Rumour Rating: C+
I think this would be a really good transfer, but I don’t think it’s the right one for now. He is good enough and fits the club mantra, but I would expect an experienced player like Debuchy instead.
