Dog on pitch saves ball, goes viral, and now the keeper is all salty about it

We're all huge fans of pooches that like to stick their noses into matches. It's happened in Brazil numerous times, in Venezuela at a Copa Libertadores match and now the trend has worked its way to Chile. This particular interloper, however, didn't just run around on the pitch and cause a delay in the lower-division match between Trasandino and Deportes Melipilla.

No, this pup (who I'm naming Gigi) actually got involved in the play and seemingly made a stop!

Gigi is positioned well to cover the post, and looks to have made a crucial save that Trasandino keeper Fabian Cerda was unable to get to. Good dog! Right? Well, after the video hit the internet and subsequently became all anyone could talk about, Cerda has had enough.

"It was going wide so I left it on purpose," Cerda told the local press, via ESPNFC. "Now people say the dog saved the goal, the dog this, the dog that. It bothers me."

OK, so maybe it was going wide regardless, but geez, guy, chill out. Someone needs to give Cerda a Coke and a smile, and give Gigi a big, tasty beef bone.
