David Alaba and Odell Beckham, Jr. are having too much fun together
Odell Beckham, Jr.'s been hanging out in Germany with Bayern Munich, showing off his tekkers, living the good life, and of course, flexing the skills that make him one of the world's best athletes, one-handing soccer balls out of midair like it's no big thing. He's also been hanging out with David Alaba. And that's important.
Aside from Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann, David Alaba might be the biggest fan of American culture European soccer has. Every day, his Snapchat is filled with him listening to American hip hop, speaking the slang, and basically just soaking up everything he can from the other side of the pond. As much as this makes sense for a 24-year-old black professional athlete, it's still amazing to see an Austrian who plays for Bayern Munich in Germany so tuned into what's going on over here.
More and more we're seeing the confluence of American football, basketball, music and soccer bring more and more athletes together over shared passions, and on the other side of the coin, we've got one of the NFL's biggest stars trotting around at Bayern Munich's Sabener Strasse training ground, rubbing elbows with the "other" footballers, and generally enjoying himself to no end.
That's why this video of OBJ and Alaba dancing and singing to Lil Uzi Vert's "You Was Right" is ... sensational.
Look. At. How. Much. Fun. They're. Having.
These dudes come from halfway across the world, grew up under completely different circumstances, but here they are, dancing to one of hip hop's upcoming stars in a car like they grew up on the same block. What a time to be alive.
All we need now is a full "hit them folk" video and the cypher will be complete.
