Danny Ings has been making a strong case on why he should be more involved with the Liverpool first team
Liverpool’s Danny Ings is compiling a strong case on why he should be involved in the first team’s plans. The English forward finds himself fourth choice to feature at striker, with Jurgen Klopp preferring others. Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi are all ahead of Ings in the pecking order.
Danny Ings scored two goals to help Liverpool’s under 23’s defeat Southampton. He served as the main attacking threat throughout the match, creating for the hosts. Perhaps Jurgen Klopp should consider involving Danny Ings in the first team’s fixtures?
Ings has a real engine and also gives his all for the team. I can’t see him keeping Firmino or Sturridge out of the team, but surely he could replace Ings on the bench? I can’t help but feel like Ings at least deserves a chance to show his worth, even for a few brief minutes.
Jurgen Klopp has succeeded in creating competative depth, shown by the fact Ings is fourth choice. Sturridge and Firmino have kept Origi out of the team, but even he got a chance in the EFL cup.
Daniel Ings is a passionate and drive player. He can use pace and movement to split defenders, and he can finish in a variety of ways. We all know Origi has potential, so why not let Ings prove that he should feature too?

Ultimately, Jurgen Klopp knows what he’s doing. If Ings isn’t going to get a chance, Klopp knows why. At least he’s performing and helping our youngsters – which aids their development.
As long as the Red’s keep performing, Ings will surely struggle to be involved.
