Danny Guthrie wedding turns sour

Police were twice called to the white wedding of English Premier League soccer player Danny Guthrie after red mist allegedly descended over the guests, The Daily Telegraph reported Sunday.

An unnamed staff member at the luxurious Allerton Castle venue near Harrogate, northern England, claimed the guests had "behaved like peasants with money" during the festivities.

Police were called twice during the early hours June 2 after violence reportedly broke out during the nuptials of former Newcastle United player Guthrie, 25, and his new wife Rebecca, 23, the mother of their three-year-old daughter Sienna.

The first time was around 2:30am local time, when a fight during the post-wedding disco resulted in the bride being punched in the face, the newspaper stated.

Though cops were said to have calmed things down, they were forced to return around just over two hours later after the wedding guests showed their distaste at being locked out by smashing down a door at the 19th century stately home.

At one point, guests started throwing lobster thermidor about, a source told the Telegraph, adding, "How can you comprehend such behavior?"

North Yorkshire Police confirmed they were called twice to Allerton Castle on the date in question, but added, "No crimes were reported and no arrests were made."

The families have denied the incident took place, the report added.
