Dani Osvaldo retired from soccer so he could play in a band

Dani Osvaldo is back to doing what he does best, which is whatever he damn well pleases. The latest reports out of Italy indicate that Osvaldo has spurned a contract with Serie A side Chievo so that he can instead focus his playing in a band.

Because of course he did.

At a reported two-years at €2.5 million or one year at €1.5, it's not like the contract was for peanuts, either. But this is the modus operandi for Osvaldo, who, with 12 clubs in his 11-year career, has a travel history that'd make Carmen Sandiego blush. Questionable decision-making defines the 30-year-old's career, to put it lightly.

There was the time he punched then-Roma teammate Erik Lamela because the Argentine failed to find him with a pass in 2011. Or the time in 2013 he squashed his World Cup hopes after ripping Aurelio Andreazzoli on Twitter for being "incompetent" and suggest the Roma caretaker manager go "celebrate with Lazio." Then there's the time he attacked Jose Fonte with a head butt during Southampton training.

His latest run-in came at Boca Juniors, where the Italian was busted by manager Guillermo Barros for smoking in the changing rooms during the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals this summer. Somehow, Chievo felt like Osvaldo deserved another shot and offered him a contract, but Osvaldo turned it down -- so he can play in a band.

They don't call him "El Loco" for nothing.
