Dani Alves focused on next Barca task

Brazilian defender Dani Alves has urged his team-mates to concentrate on the Club World Cup in Japan and not look back too much on the win over rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday.

Barca won 3-1 in the Bernabeu, despite conceding the opening goal after just 23 seconds, to strike a large blow in the battle for the Primera Division title as the defeat also ended Madrid's 15-match winning run.

Pep Guardiola's team had gone into the game as the underdogs, trailing the capital club by three points and having played a game more.

But goals from Alexis Sanchez, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas, as Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo committed two glaring misses, saw the title momentum swing in Barcelona's favour.

However, Alves wants to look forward to the next challenge which will see Barca take on Qatari side Al-sadd in the Club World Cup semi-final on Thursday.

"We will try to analyse the opponent and beat them," Alves said in quotes reported on the Marca website. "We have concentrated on getting things right in this competition, we have done the hard work."

Guardiola's players took part in a training session on Monday at the home stadium of the Yokohama Marinos team.
