Dalglish: Gerrard out of England's game at Denmark

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says Steven Gerrard will not play in England's friendly at Denmark on Wednesday due to a groin problem.

The midfielder, who would have captained England due to Rio Ferdinand's own injury problems, did manage to play the full 90 minutes of Sunday's 1-0 win at Chelsea.

But after the match, Dalglish said that Gerrard ''has a groin problem. He has to go so they (England) can have a look at him, but we've spoken to England and he'll not be playing.''

Gerrard's participation in a November friendly against France angered Liverpool after he injured his hamstring.

Gerrard played 85 minutes of that match despite coach Fabio Capello initially agreeing with Liverpool to only play him for an hour.
