Czechs take home comfortable victory
The Czech Republic earned a comfortable 2-0 win over Liechtenstein in a 2012 European Championship qualifier on Tuesday for its second Group I victory in five days.
Forward Tomas Necid opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Vaclav Kadlec added the second in the 29th after the Czechs weathered early pressure in the tiny Alpine principality.
Liechtenstein's Martin Stocklasa and Philippe Erne both directed headers just off target in the opening nine minutes.
The Czech Republic next plays away to group favorite Spain on March 25.
Four days later, Liechtenstein returns to action when it travels to face the Czechs.
Liechtenstein goalkeeper Peter Jehle saved his side from a heavier defeat when he pushed away a 20-meter (yard) shot by Jaroslav Plasil in the 54th, and stopped substitute Roman Bednar's effort in the 85th.
The home side had another chance in the 65th but Franz Burgmeier's shot was blocked.
The Czech Republic opened its Euro 2012 program by losing 1-0 at home to Lithuania, then beat Scotland 1-0 in Prague last Friday.
