Croatia's Jelavic to miss qualifier against Israel

Croatian Football Federation says striker Nikica Jelavic will undergo surgery on his ankle and will miss the European Championship qualifier against Israel on Saturday.

The federation said Jelavic was diagnosed by Croatian doctors on Monday. His rehabilitation will be carried out in a local clinic.

Jelavic was hurt during the Saturday's match between his Rangers team and Hearts in the Scottish Premier League.

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic says he will decide later whether to add another player to his squad.
