Cristiano Ronaldo tests out Nike's new self-tying shoes
Cristiano Ronaldo is not really a human fit for 2016. He's basically carved out of granite, but powered by jet fuel, and if you didn't know better, you'd think might be mechanized because he's so perfectly built for ... everything.
So, when Nike made a self-tying shoe, just like "Back to the Future II" predicted, who better to try them on than Ronaldo? It's the athlete of the future with the shoes of the future.
The shoes are made so you can slip your foot in, press a tiny button and have them self-lace. It's as close as we can come to magic — which is also how we'd describe a lot of what Ronaldo does on the field.
In "Back to the Future II," the self-tying shoes are clunky and pretty ugly. But these aren't. Nike made them look good, which is a good thing because Ronaldo wouldn't be caught dead in them otherwise.
