Cottagers need to scrap - Schwarzer

Due to postponements caused by the weather, Fulham will play a fourth successive league fixture away from Craven Cottage when they make the short trip across the capital to Tottenham next Tuesday. And Roy Hodgson will be hoping his side can avoid a fourth straight league defeat, having been narrowly turned over at Chelsea and Stoke before going down 2-0 at Blackburn on Sunday. Schwarzer kept a clean sheet when the Cottagers drew 0-0 at home to Spurs on Boxing Day, but since then he has shipped seven goals. The Australian goalkeeper has demanded greater protection at White Hart Lane, and in the following game at home to Aston Villa on January 30 - although he believes Fulham were unlucky to lose at Ewood Park last time out. "We've been very disappointed with the last three games," Schwarzer told the Fulham Chronicle. "It's not that we're playing bad football, as I thought we played particularly well in the first half. But we gave away a very sloppy goal and then in the second half, we didn't start well and gave another bad one away. "We thought that was offside and shouldn't have been given, but that's the way it goes. In the second half, they were very competitive and we were chasing the game. That's always very difficult. "We're playing good football, but are having lapses of concentration. The ability we have in the squad is very good, but it's going to be very tough to repeat the fantastic season we had last year. "We need to get back to winning ways, and if that means winning ugly then that's what we'll have to do."
