Copa del Rey: Sevilla beat Betis; Deportivo upset
MADRID -- Sevilla cruised into the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey by downing Real Betis 4-0, advancing 6-0 on aggregate on Tuesday.
Jose Antonio Reyes put Sevilla ahead with an early header, and Adil Rami added to the lead off a corner before the break. Kevin Gameiro netted after a counterattack, and Gael Kakuta closed the scoring from close range.
Sevilla won the first leg 2-0 at its rival's stadium across town.
It was Betis' fourth loss in a row, and the team's first game since firing coach Mel Pepe.
Also, second-division club Mirandes upset host Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 to advance 4-1 on aggregate. Mirandes is trying to repeat its success from 2012, when it reached the semifinals.
