Conte confirms if David Luiz will play against Liverpool
David Luiz will play against Liverpool. Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane collectively lick their lips.
After selling David Luiz to PSG for ludicrous money, Chelsea reached into their playbook for an oft used style of business: buying him back.
Typically that business model includes buying that player back for much more than they sold him for, but this time they actually turned a profit on Luiz. And now he’ll make his second debut against Liverpool, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte confirmed.
“John (Terry) strained the ligament of his ankle, the doctor told me after 10 days he could be available to come back. He is working very hard and today he had a training session to recover,” said Conte, via Chelseafc.com. “Tomorrow, David Luiz will play for the first time with us and we are confident about him.”

Conte continued to say that not only will Luiz play, the expectations are high for him.
“We expect him to play very well, we know he’s a good player,” said Conte. “We are working to put him in the best condition to give us the best of him. When new players arrive they need time to adapt to a new concept but tomorrow we need to play David Luiz. He’s worked a lot on defensive situations and when we are in possession. I have confidence in him.”

But this Liverpool side do not have one Luis Suarez and Conte expects it to be a ‘strong match.’

“A strong match, very tough against a strong team,” Conte said. “I think Liverpool are a really good team. They play with high intensity, they bring many players in offensive situations, they are very good. We must play with great expectations tomorrow because we know they are very strong.”
