Colombia striker Falcao picks up leg injury
Colombia striker Radamel Falcao says he picked up a right-leg injury playing for Atletico Madrid and needs rest and treatment in order to be fit for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers next month.
Falcao said Wednesday on his Twitter account that he could not play in a friendly on Tuesday because of a muscle problem that could become a more serious injury if not properly treated. Colombia will play matches against Peru on June 3 and Ecuador on June 10.
Falcao scored two goals earlier this month in Atletico Madrid's 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League final.
Colombia is a facing a tough battle to reach next year's World Cup. Colombia has four points from its first three matches.
