Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois joins Atletico on loan

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaud Courtois will join Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan as a possible replacement for David De Gea.

The 19-year-old Belgian goalkeeper will undergo the standard medical before joining his new club for training on Sunday.

Courtois, Joel Robles and Sergio Asenjo - coming off his second major knee operation - are all in the running for a starting place after De Gea joined Manchester United last month.
