Check out this leak of the USA's new third kit ... it's very, very red

The current crop of U.S. national team kits haven't exactly been embraced with much fanfare. They're quite basic, with a Nike template design that's caught flak since they were officially debuted in March 2016.

The white home kit features blue shoulders with a red stripe down the both sides, while the black kit, with one red shoulder and one blue shoulder has been considered one of the worst the Yanks have ever worn.

Well, there's hope on the way for those looking for a bit more pizazz. The famed kit-leakers over at Footy Headlines got their hands on the third iteration of the kit, and it's certainly got some color. That color, is red.

My first reaction is: At least they aren't ugly. They don't exactly scream USA — they look more like a Portugal shirt — but they're not abhorrent. Rumor has it that they will also be paired with red shorts and socks, so there will be a lot of red on the pitch when the U.S. national teams rock these.

It still sticks with that same Nike template that the other two kits have, so it doesn't look like apparel giant has any ambition to mix things up too much. The black stripes on the shoulder are a nice touch, but it will probably just serve to make the red look even darker from afar.

They're not three-flame-emoji kits, but they're not three-poop-emoji kits, either. Middle of the road! I suppose that's not the worst thing in the world. They're expected to be available in March or April.
