Cassano loaned to Fiorentina

Fiorentina has signed Antonio Cassano on loan from Sampdoria for the remainder of the Serie A season.

The deal was completed Saturday.

The striker has been on loan at Sampdoria from Real Madrid since 2007. He scored 25 goals in 75 appearances at the Italian club.

Cassano recently fell out with Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri after he was left out of the team. He had previously argued with Del Neri when the pair were at AS Roma, and also left Madrid after clashing with then coach Fabio Capello.

Cassano's volatile temper is the main reason Italy coach Marcello Lippi gives when explaining why he doesn't pick the striker.
