Caldwell wants Latics momentum

Having taken no points from eight games between September and November, Roberto Martinez's side have picked up seven from the last four, with their latest victory coming at West Brom on Saturday. The only blip was the 4-0 home defeat by Arsenal just over a week ago but Caldwell thinks that will be more significant as they prepare to face Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United in successive fixtures. "It was a massive result (at West Brom)," said the Scotland international. "We knew that going into the game because the fixtures after it are against the big teams in the league. "We knew we needed a win to give us confidence and momentum going into those games. "I think we hung on when we were under pressure and dug in as a team and it shows great character that we can do that. "It is now about taking it on because we were disappointed by our performance against a top side (Arsenal) and hopefully we can learn from that against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United." Caldwell also praised 20-year-old Victor Moses, who scored his first goal for Wigan since November last year. "Vic has been having an excellent season without that final bit to his game," he told Latics Player. "But hopefully that goal will give him the confidence to go on because he is a great talent."
