Cabaye wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain, return to Premier League

Yohan Cabaye wants to leave PSG and return to the Premier League to improve his chances of featuring at Euro 2016.

PSG have fierce competition in central midfield with Marco Verrati, Thiago Motta and Blaise Matuidi all vying for a starting position through the middle.

As a result, Cabaye started just 13 Ligue 1 matches last season and the former Newcastle schemer has set his sights on a return to the Premier League and when asked if he would stay at PSG, he told French newspaper L'Equipe: "Not really. I know that if I stay, whatever I'll do, nothing will change."

Crystal Palace have been allied with an interest in Cabaye along with several other Premier League clubs including Arsenal and he has welcomed the attention.

"If there is an opportunity to go back to England, I hope everyone will be smart enough to do things well. But there could be other destinations," added Cabaye.

Cabaye featured in the France squad, who were beaten by Belgium 4-3 at the Stade de France in a friendly last Sunday, and will be in the squad for Saturday's friendly with Albania.

The midfielder began his career at Lille before a £4.4million switch to Newcastle in 2011. Newcastle then sold him for £19million 18 months ago.
