Broadfoot happy with fitness

Blackpool defender Kirk Broadfoot is glad to finally be over his injury woes, and is eyeing an extended run in the team.

The 28-year-old former Rangers man has established himself as a mainstay at the heart of the Seasiders' defence following some frustrating times in recent seasons north of the boarder.

"It's been a bit stop-start over the last couple of years with injuries to be honest," said Broadfoot on Pool's official website.

"I've picked up a couple of serious injuries and couldn't really get over them. I then had some niggling injuries, while being in and out of the team.

"I always said if I get a run of games I'd get my fitness back and I feel as if I have got that back now. Hopefully I can stay injury free now and keep playing."
