Bradley Wright-Phillips and the Red Bulls embarrassed NYCFC

"Lopsided" would be a fair description of the first half of Saturday's Rivalry Week clash between NYCFC and New York Red Bulls. And the man pulling most of the weight was Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips, who smacked a beautiful overhead kick for his second goal of the day.

Red Bulls captain Dax McCarthy got the scoring started early, slotting home in the third minute at Yankee Stadium. An early lead is always nice, but it was Wright-Phillips who really put NYCFC to the sword, scoring two goals in the final minutes of the half. His 42nd minute goal was nice, but his second is going on the highlight reel.

With stoppage time nearing an end a cross into the box popped up, Wright-Phillips muscled RJ Allen out of the way, got on his bike and made a connection. NYCFC keeper Josh Saunders could do nothing more but look on hopelessly as the ball tucked into the net.

The Red Bulls picked up the second half where they left off, as McCarty added another in the 51st minute.

Great match or sad match? it depends if you're wearing red or blue.
