Borussia Dortmund extends contract of goalkeeper

Bundesliga leader Borussia Dortmund has extended the contract of goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper's previous contract had been slated to run out at the end of the season. There had been some speculation that Weidenfeller might leave the club, but the club announced Monday that the two sides had reached a new deal.
