Bomb blast in N. Ireland concerns Italy

The Italian national soccer team has been in touch with the Interior Ministry about security issues before its European Championship qualifier in Northern Ireland on Friday.

The contact comes after a dissident Irish Republican Army car-bomb blast in Londonderry on Tuesday.

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli says his team "is aware of what happened but we're staying calm, although we were a little calmer yesterday."

The bomb damaged a hotel, bank and other businesses but caused no injuries. It's the sixth such attack this year in the British territory.

Friday's match is scheduled to be held in Belfast.
