Boca Juniors to compete for Emirates Cup

Argentine giant Boca Juniors will play in a pre-season tournament in London this summer.

Boca coach Julio Cesar Falcioini will face competition from New York Red Bulls, Paris St Germain and host Arsenal in battling for the Emirates Cup between July 30-31.

The tune-up at the Emirates Stadium will be significant because it marks the return of Arsenal forward Thierry Henry, who now plays for MLS team New York Red Bulls.

Henry, 33, is in his first full season with the Red Bulls after joining last summer from Barcelona.

Although he left for Barca in 2007, Henry remains close to Arsenal, where he is the club's all-time top scorer, and trained with the Gunners this winter during the MLS off-season.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: "New York Red Bulls, Boca Juniors and Paris Saint-Germain are three clubs with great players and huge followings, and they are sure to make Emirates Cup 2011 a hugely exciting weekend of football.

"Also, I'm sure all Arsenal fans will be looking forward to welcoming back Thierry Henry - a true Arsenal legend.''
