Bob Bradley meets with Swansea chairman as Swans consider manager change

Bob Bradley met with Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins to discuss the Swans' managerial position, according to the BBC. Swansea are 17th in the Premier League table and considering sacking Francesco Guidolin, with Jenkins already taking stock of who he would like to hire should he fire the Italian.

If Bradley were hired by Swansea, it would be a historic move. No American has ever managed in one of Europe's top leagues and the Premier League is arguably the biggest league in the world.

Bradley got his start managing in American college soccer before moving on to MLS, where he was one of the league's best. His work in MLS got him the national team job, where led the United States to the 2007 Gold Cup title and the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup.

For the last five years, Bradley has been taking jobs with the aim of managing in a major European league. That has been his clear goal and he's been open about it. Swansea would obviously make that goal a reality.

Whether Bradley is the favorite or even likely to get the Swansea job if the Swans fire Guidolin is unclear. The Swans have also been linked to Ryan Giggs and would have no shortage of other bigger names interested. However, that Jenkins met with him makes him unquestionably a real candidate and potentially in position to make a major breakthrough for American managers.
