Blues cup celebration confirmed

Fans will be able to see City manager Alex McLeish and the players celebrate their shock success over Arsenal between midday and 1pm. It is Blues' first piece of major silverware for 48 years and they have delayed any celebrations until after Saturday's home Premier League clash with West Brom. Birmingham's acting chairman Peter Pannu said: "Lifting the Carling Cup at Wembley was such a historically significant moment for the club. "We felt it was only right to celebrate the magnificent achievement at St Andrew's, especially as a bus tour was deemed inappropriate following a city centre risk assessment. "Of course, the league fixture against West Bromwich Albion is our top priority and we hope to see a packed St Andrew's crowd play their part by roaring us to three points on Saturday. "We'll then look forward to welcoming Bluenoses, along with our friends at Birmingham City Council, back on Sunday in the hope that a carnival-like atmosphere will be created to salute our wonderful Carling Cup success."
