Blind: Ajax win never in doubt

Morocco striker Mounir El Hamdaoui scored twice as Ajax maintained their strong start to the season to remain in third spot, three points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven. Blind, who stood in for Martin Jol at the post-match press conference with the head coach suffering from flu, said: "There were few doubts about who would win the match. We deserved to win and I think the crowd all enjoyed it. "Mounir El Hamdaoui scored two great goals. We played very well, especially in the second half. El Hamdaoui opened the scoring with a sensational chip in the 11th minute and added a second shortly after the interval after Bas Dost had briefly dragged the visitors back level. Vurnon Anita wrapped up the victory with a third for Ajax six minutes from time. Holland midfielder Demy de Zeeuw played only the last 25 minutes at the Amsterdam ArenA as a precaution as he recovers from a calf injury. Blind added: "Demy had a little trouble with his calf. He was struggling on Tuesday. "He indicated yesterday that he was still able to play, but we play a lot of matches in the coming weeks. That is why we did not want to take too much of risk which could leave him sidelined." Ajax visit Heracles Almelo on Saturday.
