Beckham 'considering new PSG deal'

David Beckham is considering a formal offer from Paris Saint-Germain to extend his contract for another year, Sky Sports understands.

Sky sources say Beckham has yet to decide whether to stay at the club he joined in January, following earlier reports in France suggesting he was likely to leave at the end of the season.

He made the move to PSG on the final day of the winter transfer window, having left LA Galaxy following their MLS Cup final win over Houston Dynamo last December.

The Sky Sports Ambassador has made 10 appearances for the Ligue 1 leaders, although he was dismissed in his last outing against Evian.

He has been widely praised for the influence he has had since going to the French capital, with PSG making it clear they will leave any decision on his future up to Beckham.

Sporting director Leonardo said last month: "He's a leader in the dressing room, it's a privilege to have him with us.

"We are trying to continue with him, but at 38 it's up to him to decide."

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said: "I think he has been very important for us.

"Because in the situation that we are in now, the club has been changing from a normal club to a top club, and Beckham gives you some kind of confidence."
