Bayern takes Bundesliga lead beating Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich took over the Bundesliga lead for the first time since winning the 2008 title, beating Hoffenheim 2-0 Friday night as the second half of the season started.

Martin Demichelis scored in the 35th minute, and substitute forward Miroslav Klose got his first league goal of the season in the 86th.

Bayern (10-2-6) has won five straight Bundesliga games and has 36 points, one more than Bayer Leverkusen (9-0-8), which hosts Mainz on Saturday.
