Barca's technical secretary assures that Pedro has asked to leave club
Barcelona's technical secretary Robert Fernandez has confirmed that Pedro has asked to leave the club but insists offers under 30 million euros ($33M) will be rejected.
Goal reported last week that Manchester United had reached an agreement to sign Pedro from the Catalan club, but Neymar's untimely contraction of the mumps threw up an obstacle to the deal. The 28-year-old was omitted from Barcelona's squad to take on Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup and, explaining the decision, Fernandez revealed the player has made his wishes known.
"Pedro asked us for the transfer," Fernandez confirmed, before adding: "We are not going to accept less than 30 million euros for him, it's not negotiable."
Winner of five Spanish league titles and three Champions League crowns, Pedro is one of the most decorated footballers of his generation but has rarely been a regular starter at Barcelona.
