Barca hope to keep Victor Valdes
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell still hopes to convince goalkeeper Victor Valdes to sign a new contract at Camp Nou in a move that would scupper Pepe Reina's dreams.
Valdes has said he will leave Barcelona next summer when his deal runs out and was tipped to be replaced by Reina, who is spending the season on loan at Napoli.
Rosell, however, has not given up hope of keeping Valdes at Barcelona instead of proceeding with his plan to try a new league by playing abroad.
"I have tried to convince him to stay but I cannot tell you that we have met as yet," said Rosell.
"Of course, I have tried and he has not yet come off. I will certainly be trying again.
"We have a year left and that is a long time."
One player that Rosell does not think Barcelona will ever see paying in their colours is troubled Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas.
"No, in no case," he continued.
"Some players are iconic to one club. Madrid would not think about signing Xavi and I can never see Casillas wearing the Barca badge."
