AZ win again, PSV held to draw

Rasmus Elm scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute before Roda were reduced to 10 men when Mark-Jan Fledderus saw red for his second bookable offence. The victory was AZ's eighth win in 10 league games and got them back to winning ways after last weekend's 2-2 draw at Ajax. Wilfried Bony's strike earned Vitesse Arnhem a 1-1 draw as opponents PSV Eindhoven slipped four points off the pace. PSV had reeled off six consecutive wins across all competitions heading into Sunday's match, and when they took an early lead through Tim Matavz it looked set to become seven in a row. But Bony fired in a leveller just before the hour mark and the visitors could not take any of their late chances to regain the lead. Hyun-jun Suk came off the bench to earn a point for FC Groningen against an FC Twente side that missed the chance to go second. Twente could have gone two points ahead of PSV with a win and looked like doing so when Ola John put them in front in the 20th minute. That lead lasted until the 66th minute, when Suk grabbed the leveller. Jan Vertonghen headed the equaliser as 10-man Ajax fought back for a draw against Feyenoord at the Amsterdam ArenA. Teenage defender Stefan de Vrij put Feyenoord ahead after 61 minutes and they were a man to the good just a couple of minutes later when home goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer was dismissed for a professional foul on Guyon Fernandez. But Vertonghen scored in the 67th minute to rescue a point for the hosts.
