Aston Villa Squad Numbers Finalized

With the additions of Jonathan Kodjia and Albert Adomah on deadline day, Aston Villa have now finalized squad numbers for the remainder of the Sky Bet Championship.

The following list comprises every Aston Villa first team player and their corresponding number. Strangely enough, the squad contains no “Number 9”–with new signing Jonathan Kodjia electing the twenty-six shirt. Without further ado, the Aston Villa squad list:

There remains some interesting number choices, to say the least. Center back James Chester selecting the number twelve shirt as a defender–while numbers three and five are available is a curious decision. Moreover, Gabby Agbonlahor retaining the number eleven shirt is infuriating considering he most likely will not feature all year.

But to be honest, these are all just squad numbers. They don’t mean anything. They are more fun just to look at and speculate. One can buy new home and away kits on the shop Aston Villa site: http://shop.avfc.co.uk/

Finally, Aston Villa play host to Nottingham Forest on Sunday in a first meeting between these two clubs since preseason 2015. Roberto Di Matteo will desperately look for his second win as the club really want to climb the table quickly.

I’d expect Jonathan Kodjia to start alongside Ross McCormack with fellow new signing Albert Adomah featuring somewhere in the eighteen. If you missed Kodjia’s goal for the Ivory Coast National Team over the weekend, I present it to you in full. Enjoy:
