Arsenal fans have started chanting 'Wenger out' during matches
It's starting to get pretty ugly between Arsenal fans and Gunners manager Arsene Wenger. In Saturday's moribund 0-0 draw against defending champs Leicester City, fans at the King Power Stadium broke out into a song denouncing Wenger.
Once the away fans turn against you there is no turning back, we want "Wenger Out" say we want "Wenger Out" #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/ZQhkF38BnM

That's a pretty mighty roar of "We want Wenger out, we want Wenger out!" — especially when you consider it's a group of traveling fans doing it. Usually the away fans are of a slightly more forgiving disposition, if only because usually those fans don't get to often see their team in person. Spending all that time and money to be angry and upset seems like a waste, but that's exactly what happened on Saturday.
As Arsenal's all-time winningest and longest-tenured manager, Wenger has built up considerable leeway — but it certainly looks like that cachet is dwindling.
The main source of scorn comes from Wenger and the Arsenal board's reluctance (or refusal) to bring in meaningful reinforcements, save for €45 million signing of Granit Xhaka. Arsenal fans have spent years clamoring for a world-class striker, but each window has open and shut without the Gunners being able to seal a consequential deal.
Compounding the frustration with the penny-pinching Gunners is the lavish spending being done by Arsenal's chief rivals: Manchester City, United and Chelsea. Wenger's post-match comments also don't seem to be helping his cause, either. When reporters asked the 66-year-old about Arsenal's lack of spending, he offered a puzzling response:
It's a curious response, to say the least, and one that won't exactly appease the majority of Arsenal supporters.
If the displeasure with Wenger continues to escalate all the way until the Gunners return to the Emirates on September 10, watch out. Wenger might want to bring ear plugs, assuming he still has a place on the touchline.
