Argentina still No. 1 in FIFA rankings; USA up to 22nd
Argentina maintained to the top spot in the latest FIFA rankings released Thursday, while Brazil moved up five spots to No. 4.
Brazil parlayed their victories over Ecuador and Colombia in World Cup qualifying to help boost their ranking. Belgium remains second, followed by Germany and Colombia which is tied with Brazil.
Chile, Portugal, France, Uruguay, Wales, which made it to the semifinals of Euro 2016, round out the top 10.
Mexico leads all CONCACAF teams at No. 15, Costa Rica is No. 18, with the United States up four spots to No. 22.
Africa's highest ranked team is the Ivory Coast at No. 34, while Iran leads all Asian nations at No. 37.
FIFA's newest number checks in at No. 168 thanks to their 1-1 draw against Finland in World Cup Qualifying. Guinea-Bissau, St Kitts and Nevis, Kazakhstan, Comoros each achieved their highest ranking ever.
