Anass Achahbar scores outrageous golazo for the ages
Feyenoord fans were treated to a real spectacle on Thursday when Anass Achahbar pulled off a sensational overhead kick to score against Heerenveen.
Picking up the ball from former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt, the 22-year-old played it off his own chest before slamming his effort over the defense and into the net, levelling the score at 1-1 with 20 minutes to play:
The memorable goal wasn't quite enough to carry the day, however, with the away side retaking its lead through Joey van den Berg a few minutes from time.
The Eredivisie game was notable for more than just Achahbar's strike, as the Dutch FA (KNVB) trialed a new method to bring transparency and interactivity to the game by installing a camera in the studio used by the game's video referee.
Viewers could tune into a live stream to see how the officials communicated with each other and utilised the technology at their disposal.
